I was so excited to go to prom this year. If you know me, you might know that I’m a girly-cutesy sort of girl. I love anything lace and frilly. I got to hang out with my best friend before, and she actually went and had her hair done at a salon before she came over. Here is a short run-down of my perfect night:

I got my dress at DEB. They were closing and I got this fabulous dress for $40. It was the first one I tried on, and I just knew that it was it.

IMG_1958GGCPI had several people tell me that I looked like Cinderella, and several tell me that I looked like a mermaid. It was a beautiful dress, I got spoiled. If you were wondering, this is pretty much the only silly posed photo my mom got. :)

During spring break, I went to a Jamberry party with my mom and my aunt. I ordered some wraps and used another set from home too. They came in the mail the day of prom! I was worried :/ but they came on time, and I got to wear them for the evening :)

IMG_1937GGCPThe theme of this year’s prom was Old Hollywood. Tickets were expensive, but I didn’t care. It was worth the catered dinner at the hotel and photographer. I was glad to get this photo with my best friends, we grew up together :)

IMG_1981GGCPMy bestie and me :) we sort-of unintentionally matched..

IMG_1975_2GGCP IMG_1952_2GGCPI got to dance with this sweet guy during many of the slow songs..

IMG_1955_2GGCPKressen, you’re the best.

and to the photo-bomber, you made that photo less awkward ;)

IMG_1957_2GGCPI felt like the most spoiled girl there, and there were many who made it perfect. It was so special and precious, I have wished many times since then that I could go back to such a memorable night :)

I have been learning so much lately about this passage, enjoy.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.

Happy Spring!

I’m feeling up to posting something today.. Some pretty exciting things have happened lately! I’ll mention a few.. mostly my most recent birthday. I got my prom dress for prom in a few weeks, but I’m keeping that mostly under wraps. I’m so excited for such a big night! This weekend, I am singing in Greeley, CO for a NATS competition. I am singing three separate songs, and am overjoyed to bring those there. It’s kind of strange doing all these fun things, I definitely don’t think I’m old enough to be doing these things yet.. oh well.

I was so excited to sing in my community’s annual Messiah chorus this year! We sang pretty much the entire thing, it was long.

here are the easter eggs I dyed, yes, my family still does this.

We went on a hike last Sunday with a few friends from church. The colors were beautiful.

the flowers my parents got me for my birthday :)

I have a friend who willingly straightened my gorgeous curly hair for a day

my family took me and nine other girls to see the new Cinderella movie the night it came out. It was a surprise, I had no idea!

I hope life has treated you well. I am excited for this new season of spring, and renewal, and warmer weather too. God bless you!

2015 Resolution: Renew

Okay, so Happy New year everyone. So far 2015 has treated me well. I think. God is working on me. I’m having a hard time writing “2015” on all my papers. Wasn’t 2010 just last year? (no, that was FIVE years ago!)

So, with everyone talking about resolutions and stuff, I just decided to go with just one word, since it’s easier to remember. Here is my word:

:to make (something) new, fresh, or strong again
:to make (a promise, vow, etc) again
:to begin (something) again especially with more force or enthusiasm

Synonyms: refresh, recharge, recreate, regenerate, repair, revive, renovate, replenish
All words beginning with the two letters: RE, meaning again.

That’s all I want for 2015. To be made new again. To be repaired, recreated, and recharged by God.

I want to feel my love for Jesus freshly revived every morning.

How about you? What are you going to do with your fresh start? What is going to make 2015 better than any other year?

God’s mercy is new every morning. He offers forgiveness and grace to all who ask.

So make it great.

Psalm 51:10
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Isaiah 40:31
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

*Merry Christmas*

I know I haven’t posted in a while– I’ll make it a resolution to post more in the future.

I wanted to share a little bit about what’s been going on in my life, for those of you who missed me. I’ve been busy like a crazy person. But then, who isn’t this time of year? I must say, I like the business, even if it drains me. Christmas break started on Monday, and it’s been really nice to sit back and catch up on sleep and reading.

Christmas light parade!

I shopped with a few friends–this was the only shot I took, and I apologize if it scared you.

Here are a few photos I took of ornaments last night.

My family watches “The Polar Express” every Christmas Eve. The photo below captures a bell, a critical part of the story.

I hope your “Christ’s-Mass” and your “Holy-days” go as well as you planned. May the light streaming from the manger touch your face and bring you peace, hope, joy. Merry Christmas!

‘Christmas Is’ by Francesca Battistelli

Christmas is music and family in town
Christmas is snoopy and Charlie Brown
It’s anticipating that snow’s going to fall

And praying for someplace to park at the mall
It’s mom going crazy cuz the turkey got burned
It’s saying thanks for some gifts you’ll return
Christmas is caroling kids at your door
It’s paper and ribbon all over the floor

Christmas is coming, Christmas is near
I’ve been counting down the days all year
Christmas is almost here

Christmas is rooftops covered in lights
It’s away in the manger, It’s a wonderful life
Christmas is caring for those who got nothing
It’s dropping your change in the bell ringers bucket

Christmas is all of these fun things for sure
But, Christmas is really, oh so much more
It’s good news of hope for the whole world, because
Christmas is Jesus

Eagles wings

100_3783 4.07.00 PM GGCP 100_3784 4.07.00 PM GGCP

“Look up into the heavens.
    Who created all the stars?
He brings them out like an army, one after another,
    calling each by its name.
Because of his great power and incomparable strength,
not a single one is missing.
27 O Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles?
O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights?
28 Have you never heard?
    Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
29 He gives power to the weak
    and strength to the powerless.
30 Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.”

~Isaiah 40:26-31

I hope I got to remind you of how special a relationship with God is. Spending time with Him really is worth the while. He loves you very much!

Fall 2014 {Lay it down}

I’m so bummed I haven’t been able to post anything lately! I have had a great season of life since I last posted. It’s so hard to post a small amount of photos, since so much has been going on… Enjoy the few I picked out!

I attempted golf over labor day.. it’s a strange sport! And now I have more appreciation for those who play it.

Spin City with my bestie.. and don’t ask about our funky glasses!

I went to homecoming! It was fantastic!

I took this with my iPhone at a friend’s house :) definitely the shot of the month.

I got my permit! But no worries, you can still stay on the sidewalks. :)

I ran my first 5K with my dad! The UV color splash was so fun!

My best friend’s little brother had a superhero themed party last weekend. It was so fun to dress up.

We carved our pumpkins on Sunday! They’re pretty baggy and sad right now, but it was fun to make them! Left to right: mockingly, Olaf, avengers, and superman. To sum it up, it’s just our fandoms.

I have really enjoyed life, I think.. I’m slowly getting through some tough stuff in my life and I’m learning to trust God more and more.

The song I chose was hard to pick since so many have run through my head lately. This is in Sanctus Real’s new Album, “The Dream”. It’s really fun to listen to, I totally recommend you checking it out.

“I know you have your problems
‘Cause everybody’s got ‘em
If you get lost in your sorrows
Then you could hit rock bottom
But if you smile in face of trivial things
And you learn to pray when you wanna complain
Stand up straight when the Earth is shaking
And just breathing when you feel afraid
Oh, don’t you know

Those problems you’re worried about
They can’t keep you from living now
When you shake ‘em off and lay ‘em down, down, down
At the cross where your freedom’s found
Oh You can stand up no matter what
March on when times are tough
Be strong and don’t give up
All you need now
Is to shake ‘em off and lay ‘em down
At the cross where your freedom’s found

We all have our seasons
When we get caught up in our feelings
And I know there’s a time for laughter and a time for pain
A time for doubt and a time for faith
But when you believe you can find the strength
So get back up on your feet

Lay it down, lay it down
Why you holding on so tight
Oh, the freedom you will find
When you let go God will take over the fight
Oh, just surrender
And feel what it’s like to be free again..”

do life big || my summer at a glimpse

Ok. Well, my 1st day of school was this last Monday. It was pretty good, enjoying Julius Caesar :)

I loved my summer! Definitely one of the best ever! Here are a few photos.. and lyrics to a song that has been on my heart all summer long. Enjoy!

We went and saw Maleficent– a must see!! We loved it!! There are some pretty amazing people in that photo  ;)

I survived VBS! One of my favorite parts of summer.. and I had my summer nanny job in there too! Pretty exhausting.

IMG_0884I got to see plenty of baseball! Our local minors team is a lot of fun to watch, but so was my brother’s All Star team! He chose to be on the 12&under team, even though he isn’t twelve yet. He did a great job, even though they were so close to making it to state.

The girls in this photo I only saw a couple times this summer, but we had a great time! Here we are at the Movies-under-the-stars in Glade park. We got to see ‘Honey I shrunk the kids’, always a thrill. Photo creed to Ashlyn- that spunky girl in the far right. :)

My sweet little sister cut all her pretty hair off for Locks of love! She looks so much cuter now :)

Katie, Maeve, Jasmine, and Teah are so fun! We went bowling for an evening.. what a great time! Full of smiles, laughs, bowling, and selfies :)

I got to spend the 1st week of July with my cousins from Denver and my aunt and Nana in Montrose! We went to Ouray for the 4th, which was amazing. Here we are all pose-y and patriotic before heading down to the parade!

My 3rd week of July was spent well in San Juan Bible Camp. We took a group down there to work on their girls’ bathhouse. It was started about 6 years ago. We were able to get all the insolation done, paint the entire exterior, and get most of the sheetrock drywall screwed in. It was hard work, but a lot of fun! I didn’t want to leave. This photo includes our team (in the black shirts) and those who are not are staff at the camp. Tigo (that cool guy across our laps) is probably the coolest person I met at SJBC. Great memories made. I love all those people!

We went to see my cousins in Denver the 1st week in August. We did all sorts of fun stuff.. Hiking in Chautuaqua park, learning at the History Colorado museum, getting wet in WaterWorld (there is no other word to describe that than fun), taking the tour at Celestial Seasonings (I am now a tea addict), going to Lakeside amusement park (their roller coaster is awesome!!), and taking the scenic route home through Rocky Mtn National park (which was breath-taking). Me and my family agree that this was one of the best family vacations we’ve ever had!

I got to hold my sweet little cousin Annalise (who is almost 12 months!). She is so sweet :) the best part is that when we had her over, she was all cuddly :)

And here is a group picture after WaterWorld! I wish I had gotten a better photo, we didn’t think about the shade when we asked some random guy to take our photo :/ oh, well. All happy faces though! We got to spend most of the morning and all of the afternoon there, riding as many slides as possible.. my cousin, dad, and I all rode on the straight drop slide.. that was fun! I felt bad for my dad though, he had to carry our big tubes for the other rides.. :( good thing the rides made up for it!

I honestly had one of the best summers ever!! Now I’m back in school.. and I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for the upcoming year!

I gotta slow down!
Stop for a second!
Take a look around!
And I gotta take time!
To hear that little voice inside! Saying I came to give you life!
So spread your wings and fly!
I’ve got a secret to share!
You are enough to change the atmosphere! So go and do life big!
I wanna do life big! Break out them blue skies!
I can feel my heart beating inside!
Yeah, it’s like a new day!
Woke up to hear You say! I came to give you life!
So spread your wings and fly!
Now go and show no fear!
You are enough to change the atmosphere! So go and do life big!
I wanna do life big! Oh, I wanna love, wanna give every day I live!
I wanna do life big!
I wanna love, serve, and give every chance I get!
I wanna do life big!
I wanna love, wanna give every day I live!
I wanna do life big!
I wanna love, serve, and give every chance I get!
Oh, I wanna do life, I wanna do life big!
I wanna do life big! I wanna love like You!
I wanna give like You!
Oh, I wanna do life big!
I wanna serve like You!
Lay down my life like You!
I wanna do life big!
